As their option, BDCI clients may obtain client- or even project-specific, password-protected File Transfer Protocol (FTP) sites. These sites are often used to exchange documents that may be too large for email systems. They are also used to create “electronic data rooms” through which technical, regulatory and other documents are provided to Insurers, Contractors or other parties to a transaction or prospective transaction (while also preserving an accurate forensic record of what was provided and when).
